An organizational meeting will be held Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. in the bowling alley for Intramurals: help wanted The intramural office, in order to insure a successful vear of service, needs help. They're seeking students to work as managers for each residence college. For those who are interested in helping and getting paid for it, this is an ideal opportunity. Tag football will get under way Monday, Sept. 13 and applicants for managers' positions should apply between a.m. and 5 p.m. at the intramural office at room 215 in Woollen Gym. There will be a managers' meeting at 7 p.m. next Monday in room 304. Positions are vacant in these halls: Alexander, Fhringhaus A, Iihringhaus I), Fhringhaus F. Fhringhaus F, Graham, Granville West (floors 3 through 7. plus 9), Grimes. James C, James F. James 11. Morrison 5th floor, Morrison lth floor and Morrison 10th floor. Buying? Selling? the formation of a Tuesday nh: student-staff-faculty bowling league. The Union hopes to bring the various elements of the unhersity community together in this league, which will consist o! eight to ten five-man teams. Monday night nixed couples league will be formed Sept. 14. with competition beginning the next week. This league will have two couples on each team. Both the mixed-couple and the student-staff-faculty league will play handicap bowling. Tryouts will start Sept. 22 for the UNC bowling team, which last year ran up a 10-0 record in intercollegiate competition. After 15 qualifying games, the top 24 finishers will be tapped for the team, which will then split into a league of eight three-man teams. The top seven scorers in league play during the week before a match will comprise the Tar Heel team against that week's competition. The third annual men's match game bowling championship gets under way Oct. 3 Trophies will be awarded to the first and second place finishers in this double-elimination tournament. Sign-up sheets for the various leagues are posted in the bowling lanes, and all league games will cost $.40 apiece. Anything goes in the classifieds - might be expected. One of the pros reportedly said that Washington was one of the best freshmen here since Billy Cunningham - and that covers a lot of ground.
