Defendant talks to press
N.C. may prosecute towing case

The state may not "nol pros" (no
prosecution) a conviction appeal
involving the illegal towing of a car
because of comments made by one of the
defendants.
Robert Oakes, manager of Cedar Court
Apartments, and Bill Burch, owner of
Burch's Auto Servicenter, were found
guilty of "unlawful taking of a motor
vehicle without intent to steal" in
Hillsborough District Court Aug. 31 .
Burch, under Oakes' direction, towed

cashier. So far. no student has been
dropped from school for failure to pay
tuition and fee charges, Woodard added.
Woodard explained a letter would be
sent to students who had not paid the:r
tuition by Wednesday, warning of the
consequences for failure to pay.
On a specific date-September 23, this
year-Woodard will send a list of students
who have not paid tuition fees to the
administration.
