Chapel Hill police are looking for
Ralph Leon Travis, proprietor of the
Paper Castle, after discovering a quantity
of drugs in his store on Feb. 20.
Detectives Don Tripp and Bill Breel
discovered felonious amounts of
marijuana, LSD, MDA and
metha-amphetamines in the E. Franklin
Street store when they responded to a
fire alarm.
Warrants have been issued for Travis's
arrest. No other employes of the store
have been charged.
Lang
new
dean
Nancy Lang, originally of Garden City,
N.Y., has replaced Julie Jones as an
assistant dean in the Department of
Residence Life. The job became open
when Jones announced her resignation in
January to take a position with Southern
Bell in Charlotte.
Lang, a 1970 graduate of Millikin
University in Decatur, III., is presently
working on her master's degree in
dramatic art at UNC. She has been in the
Chapel Hill area for a year and a half,
working as an RA and later as college
master in Granville East. Before coming
to Chapel Hill, Lang was a traveling
secretary for Alpha Chi Omega sorority.
Commenting on her new job Lang said,
"It's very challenging. I only started this
past Monday but I think I'll enjoy it. I
enjoy working with students since I'm
not that removed from college, myself."
When asked about any plans for future
moves, Lang, who is single, said. "My
future plans are here right now. I've
traveled around long enough. I'd like to
settle down in one place for a while."
