Council to re-evaluate XYC issue By ROBERT THOMASON Staff Writer The Campus Governing Council will rctackle the issue of WXYC funding tonight and also will consider a referendum on a constitutional amendment that drastically would change the organization and powers of the executive branch of Student Government. The CGC will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in Room 213 of the Carolina Union. Two bills which collectively would allocate approximately $13,000 to WXYC top the agenda. The first bill would allocate $9,956.75 to the radio station for FM construction and capital improvements such as shelving, headphones and soundproofing. Karl Hess . . . The news service includes a 20-week subscription to a newswire service, according to the WXYC news department. The CGC may approve a constitutional referendum which would pose, to the students, the question of electing the Student Government treasurer. The referendum, which would be held Feb. 14, also would bring before students the question of removing the student body president as a voting member of the CGC and the CGC Finance Committee. The referendum would require the treasurer to make monthly reports to the CGC on the current state of Student Government finances.
