George Straight, a reporter for ABC, said the story is on the higher education system in North Carolina. The Chapel Hill is the first one visited by the crew. Straight said the crew would not be able to go to all 16 campuses in the University system, but will contact administrators at each campus. One of the students interviewed was senior David Ascher. Ascher, who is white, said Straight asked him how he picked U NC-CH, if he had considered attending a traditionally black university and whether Ascher thinks he would have felt uncomfortable or like a member of a minority had he attended a black school. Ascher said he felt Straight was seeking examples of Southern prejudice. Straight also interviewed Jimmy Dixon, a freshman. Dixon said Straight did not mention HEW or its demands on the N.C. University System in the interview. - MARTHA WAGGONER New Shipment Just Arrived at Andromeda Ideal (or school, travel, photography, dance, whatever!
