Mauer of the University police said Monday. Three were taken from Hinton James dorm, two from Ehringhaus dorm and one from the Carolina Union. The most recent theft was Nov. 4, when a moped was taken from the rack in front of Hinton James. Mauer, who is in charge of the investigation, said he believed mere than one person was involved. "They must be loading them up and taking them out of here," he said. The mopeds were stolen after chains binding them to racks were cut. They cannot be started without a key, Mauer said.
