The United CVbtiaa Feows&Ip is holding its annual fall revival this week at 7:30 nightly in Gerrard K&X y wX I I v ' ( The Mr. Rarneses rials beaut) pageant scheduled for tonight has been canceled because of lack of student interest, Elizabeth Jcr.es, pageant chairperson, said Wednesday. The pageant, sponsored by Alpha Phi Omega Campus Chest Committee, would have featured males" in evening wear, swimsuit and talent contests. "Part of the problem is that Carolina is so big and it's hard to generate interest all over campus," Jones said. Although she sent information about the pageant to. al! the fraternities, sororities and dorms, Jones received only four entries. Prizes from local merchants would have .gone to the contest w inner, and all proceeds from the event would have gone to charity. Jones said she worked eight hours a d3y for three weeks for the project and got the idea from a similar event at her high school. The high school event was able to raise $2,000, Jones said.
