the deaths and disappearances of 22 At
lanta children' will be held today from
noon to 1 p.m. in the Pit.
Sponsored by the Committee for Black
Student Unity, the program will feature
speeches by BSM President Mark Canady,
Delta Sigma Theta sorority president
Rickey McCoy and representatives from
Black Independent Political Party, the
Minority Law Student Association and the
Committee for Black Student Unity.
"The rallyis not just to promote unity
among black students but to heighten
'awareness of white students and organi
zations to the black cause," said Tim
Gaylord, founder of the Committee for
Black Student Unity. .
"The whole thing has to stop," he said.
"The Atlanta murders are just a part of the
whole movement now, typified by the re
surgence of the Klan and the new Reagan
administration."
