war, politics and humanity. This true story that has re

Sweet Sweetback's Baddass Song at 7 and 9:30 p.m.
Saturday in the Union Auditorium. This story of a pimp
who kills two policeman is one of the strongest protest
films ever made and perhaps is the only true cinematic
depiction of black rage to emerge from the torrid 1960s.
It is justifiably graphic in its violence, sex and language.
Written, directed, scored, edited by and starring Melvir
Van Peebles with music performed by Earth, Wind and

Touch of Evil at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the
Union Auditorium. Orson Welles' film, perhaps the great
est of all B movies, is a garish, flamboyant thriller which
has something to do with drugs and police corruption in a
small border town but is really more than anything else
an essay in cinematic style. With Welles, Charlton Hes
