The Ducks had defeated the Psychology "Clippers" 5-4 in nine innings in the semi-finals to reach the finals against Dream. Dream, which won the competitive soft ball championship last session and which is ranked this week, consists of co-captains Doug Wake man and Bruce Larson, Bill Lastrapes, Bob Whitesell, Rody Borg, Don Hoff, Houston Bagley, Dan Fuller, Roger Whittemore and Dave Apple. : The Softball marathon is a double-elimination, weekend-long tourney which drew five teams, this session. . Action was light this week in soft ball and volleyball, the latter still being held Thursday nights with just five entries. Play begins tomorrow in the weekend-long frisbee golf tournament. The course has been revised and new maps are available in the IM Rec office. Deadline for submitting all attested score cards for the frisbee tourney is Monday, 5 p.m. Sunday marks the first round deadline for the match play goif tournament, which runs at Finley through Sun., Aug. 8. UNC student Dave Smith, who qualified for this year's Boston Marathon, set the record in the Grandfather Mountain Marathon, recently at Grandfather Mountain, with a time of 228, ac cording to Assoc. IM-Rec Director Marty Pomer antz. Smith, one of five UNC students to qualify for this year's Boston event and who had qualified and participated in Boston several times previously, was not able to participate this year. DU's David Moore was the lone UNC repre sentative this year.
