For the record
In Monday's story, "Computers

Cromartie works for the geography

Because of a proofreading error in the
story titled "Robinson remembers Rev.
King" (Monday, Jan. 17), The Daily Tar

saying, "We've not only put (the phi

The Associated Press
RALEIGH An aide to Gov. Jim
Hunt accused U.S. Sen. Jesse Helms
political action committee of lying
about Hunt in a radio, advertisement
Monday and said legal action may be
taken.
The ad, aired on radio stations
throughout the state, says Hunt op
poses "workfare," or requiring able
bodied welfare recipients to work for
their benefits. Hunt aides say he
strongly supports workfare and has
recommended it for North Carolina.
The ad was sponsored by the Na
tional Congressional Club, a political
action committee based in Raleigh that
has raised millions of dollars for con
servative causes and candidates. Helms
and Sen. John East, both R-N.C, are
honorary co-chairmen.
