The bar plans to continue its tradition of having live bands for nightly entertainment. Cat's Cradle changes locations By MELANIE EUBANKS Staff Writer If a quiet atmosphere is what you're look ing for, Cat's Cradle is definitely not the place. Be prepared to dance and mingle. The Cradle is one of only a few bars in Chapel Hill which features live music, hosting night ly local and out-of-town rock and progres sive groups such as The Fabulous Knobs. Performing recently have been bands such as Rick Rock, Alkaphonics and Standing Waves. The Cat's Cradle has moved closer to campus this semester from Rosemary Street to an easily-walkable Franklin Street address. Completely remodeled, the new Cradle offers two full bars serving domestic and im ported beers. The front bar is located near the band and dance floor. A large television and an array of video games are in the back bar. The age minimum is 19 (as of Oct. 1). Another new feature opening soon will be a Private Club Bar behind the two front bars. The Private Club will serve mixed drinks and wine to members only (members must be 21). Total crowd capacity for the renovated Cat's Cradle will be between 250 and 300 people. The cover charge, which will gener ally be lower during the week, varies de pending on the band appearing. Drinks are moderately priced. A Chapel Hill Tradition Since 1942 Featuring Good Food.
