Reagan pronounced his visit to Japan
and South Korea a success Monday,

people in Seoul as he rode to the air
port, Reagan arrived by helicopter on
the White House South Lawn to a

waved small American flags.
RALEIGH A major state race
relations group, fearing that close
political races in 1984 could stir racial
emotions, has urged candidates not to
use racially divisive tactics.
The 20-member N.C. Human Rela
tions Council in a statement last week
urged "candidates for local and
statewide office to conduct campaigns
that address specific issues in an effort
to promote goodwill and reduce the ris
ing polarization among the citizens of
the state."
