2The Daily Tar HeelWednesday, January 25, 1984 Wilson Wolfe offers exposure to a number of stylistic and linguistic devices, Wilson said. ; The seminar format of the course, which meets one evening a week in the fall, allows for a free exchange of ideas. Wilson said he saw his role as leading and guiding the discussion. "I think Wolfe is particularly hard to teach because in a way he appeals to emotions more than intellect," he said. "Wolfe has a different appeal for different people. With Wolfe you don't have a nice neat analysis. It's hard to switch gears sometimes. Teaching science in volves imparting factual information; with literature it's a little more subjective. In that sense it's hard to switch from one type of teaching to another. "The primary function of a teacher should be to inspire the student to want to learn.
