Futurist competition announced
Honeywell Inc. is sponsoring its third
annual Futurist Award Competition, a
contest asking college students to
predict technologial advancements that
will be achieved by the year 2009.
The contest is open to all full-time
undergraduate and gradate students at
any accredited college. Students are
asked to predict developments in two
of the following technologial areas:
electronic communications, energy,
aerospace, marine systems, bio-medical
technology or computers. A third essay
must address the social, economic and
environmental impact of the technolog
ical progress. Each three essay is limited
to 500 words.
Ten first-place entries each will earn
$2,000 and an opportunity to work for
Honeywell next summer. Ten second
place winners each will receive $250 and
10 honorable-mention winners each will
receive $100. All entrants will receive
a Honeywell Futurist T-shirt.
