But in spite of everyone's desire to
do well, "We grow through failure,"
Stanford says, explaining that even
failure can play a crucial role in one's .
college experience.
Besides his work with the campus
ministry, Stanford is president of the
Habitat of Orange County. The
Habitat is presently working on plans -to
build houses on 77 acres west of
Chapel Hill.
Stanford describes his purpose at
Chapel of the Cross as "helping
people find their identity and their
vocation. A lot of what 1 see myself
doing is enabling people to see what
their gifts are and to see their calling."
Of the campus ministry program,
Stanford says. "We do a lot of
offering to folks and then we let them
choose what fits for them." .
Programs at Chapel of the Cross
include Bach's Lunch, a series of free
noonday concerts, confirmation
classes and Adopt a Student, in
which students are matched with
church families.
The Anglican Student Fellowship
is the student group at the church.
