Often it seems that while the names of
UNCs leaders never stop ringing in our
ears, their faces and positions sometimes
escape recognition. To rememdy this, and
to introduce these leaders to new students.
The Daily Tar Heel produces this list of
Who's Who at Carolina.
Donald Boulton is vice chancellor of
student affairs. His duties include oversee
ing the Department of Student Life, the
Carolina Union, the Campus Y, the
International Center and the University
Counseling Service.
Robert Cannon is the Affirmative
Action officer for the University and is in

charge of maintaining fair employment
standards.
Christopher C. Fordham III is chancel
lor of the University of North Carolina
. at Chapel Hill. From his South Building
office, he supervises the operation of this
campus.
Bryan Hassel, a junior history major
from Nashville, Tenn., is student body
president. He represents student interests
in his positions on the Board of Trustees,
the General Alumni Board and the
Carolina Union Board.
Ray Jones, a senior journalism and
political science major from Buies Creek,
is president of the Residence Hall Asso
ciation. His duties focus on representing

on-campus residents in dealing with the
administration on housing issues.
Wayne Kuncl is director of housing and
is responsible for all aspects of living in

Jeannie Mitchell, a senior business
administration major from Dunwoody,
Ga., is president of the Carolina Union.
Her duties include coordinating Union
sponsored activities and overseeing the
Union Activities Board.
Eleanor Morris is director of student aid.
She supervises the awarding and distribu
tion of all financial aid at the University.
Mark Pavao, a senior geology major
from Chapel Hill, is serving his second term
as president of the Carolina Athletic
Association, which oversees student ticket
distribution and the Carolina Homecom
ing Week festivities.
Walker Poole, a senior business major
from Greensboro, is student attorney
general, the supervisor of investigating
charges of Honor Code violations.
Hayden Renwick is associate dean of
the College of Arts and Sciences and a
counselor for minority students.
Camiile Roddy, a senior public policy
analysis major from Winston Salem, is
president of the Black Student Movement

and represents, the interests of the BSM's
members.
CD. Spangler is president of the
University of North Carolina system.
Appointed in March, he oversees the state's
16-campus system. His office is in the
General Administration building on
Raleigh Road.
John Swofford, director of athletics,
oversees all varsity sports and deals with
sports-related issues.
Farris Womack, vice-chancellor for
business and financee, manages the
University's financial accounts. ,
Jim Zook, a senior journalism major
from Little Rock, Ark., is editor of The
Daily Tar Heel.
