"It's too prema ture to discuss it," Geer said. When asked if the group was trying to avoid any of the events surrounding the NCAA champion ship victory in 1982, Schroeder said, "It was a very pleasant experience - everyone here remembers it in a very positive sense." The group's press release closed with a statement of support for the Tar Heels on Thursday. "The team plays this Thursday evening, and all of our support and interest should be directed toward that game and succeeding games as they may develop. Go Heels, Beat Notre Dame!" Old East the task force is to remove the walls separating sections of the first floors of the buildings, allowing passage between the sections without going outside. Also, the plan called for the development of the space beneath the first floor of one or both buildings, the creation of a weight roomexercise space and the addi tion of laundry and ironing facilities. The last set of ideas submitted by the task force "allows for academic Helms ) Bill Peaslee, chairman of the UNC College Republicans, said he was not surprised by the announcement and was not sure how serious the cam paign was. "In a lot of cases, this is just a ploy to raise money," Peaslee said. Movies Corp., the largest chain in the industry, also tries to appeal to customers by offering a classier atmosphere than most theaters. This includes marble floors, plush carpet ing and seating, and antique-style popcorn machines. "People in the industry are quite optimistic," Green said. "They know that people still go out to the movies in spite of home movies. What they have said is now that weVe got them out, we've got to keep them. They want more people coming back to their theater, and they want the same people coming back." For this reason, theaters try to show movies geared toward the type of Community the theater is In, and try to parallel the environment of the theater to that of the surrounding community. "We keep getting reports of North Carolina films showing over and over again not only in theaters in the state, but also in theaters else where in the nation," said Bill Arnold, director of the North Carol ina Film Office. Last year there were between 450 and 500 films released in the United States. I'd like to meet you, but how can I reach you? JACKY-I just got your Feb; 24 note, and I owe your two best friends roses for telling you to respond. You sound very sweet, and it's nice to know that someone shares all those deep qualities and doesn't think they're corny at all. I'd love to meet you too, so write me again and include a number.
