Conference game, the University of
Maryland is bound for the NCAA
post-season basketball tournament.
Maryland, 17-12, was one of five
ACC teams chosen by the NCAA
Tournament's selection committee.
The Terrapins were made the seventh
seed in the Southeast bracket and will
play California-Santa Barbara Fri
day in Cincinnati.
"I'm very happy and very excited,"
said Coach Bob Wade by telephone
from his office in Cole Field House.

Having finished the regular season
with a 16-11 mark, Maryland added
an impressive 84-67 victory over
Georgia Tech in the first round of
the ACC Tournament.
"We might have been in it (based
solely on the regular season), I don't
know," Wade said. "I do know the
Tech game helped us with how we
played and the final margin."
