14The Tar Heel Thursday, June 2, 1988 Sports NCAA track finals From staff reports Seven members of UNC's track team will compete in the NCAA outdoor track championships today through Saturday. The seven members and the events they will be competing in are as follows: Sharon Couch, long jump; Jim Farmer, 5,000 meters; Jill lriz arry, 400 meter hurdles; Kendra Mackey, 400 meters; Kevin McGorty, decathlon; Sherrie MacKinney, javelin; and Mia Pollard, 800 meters. Four of the seven lrizarry, Mackey, MacKinney and Pollard have also qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials, scheduled for July 15 to 23 in Indianapolis, with Mackey qualifying in the 100- and 200-meter events as well.
