State's defense has to close gaping holes like this one in last year's game against UNC By DAVE GLENN Staff Writer Maybe they were out of shape last year. Maybe they went to too many Friday night parties in Raleigh. Or maybe the Wolfpack spent too many late nights chasing after Little Red Riding Hoods. For whatever reason, the N.C. State football team had a split personality last season. After some very productive first halves, the Wolfpack was outscored 34-82 and 49-71 in the final two quarters, respectively.
