basketball coach at Wake Forest
University in the aftermath of an
Internal investigation of an alleged
kCAA recruiting violation.
"On Monday, (athletic director)
fcene Hooks spoke to me about the
program and its future," Staak said.
"Today, we concluded that it is in
my best interest and the best interests
of the program and the university to
pursue coaching opportunities
elsewhere."

Tuesday afternoon saying that it had
completed an internal investigation of
the basketball program, as requested
by the NCAA. It has not reported
its findings to the NCAA, however.
The university has never been
penalized by the NCAA for any rule
violations.
Staak compiled a 45-69 record
during his four seasons at Wake
Forest, but he won only nine times
in 61 games against Atlantic Coast
Conference opponents, including this
past season's 3-1 1 mark.
The 41 -year old Staak had exten
sive coaching experience in the
to outdoor pool, answer phone and
public inquires, some pool mainte
nance. Morning - afternoon with ro
tating weekend, or afternoon - eve
ning with rotating weekend. Similar
experience preferred. Must have a
pleasant personality, good communi
cation skills; must be responsible.
