the film is as strong and horrific
as anything ever committed to
film for a major Hollywood movie.
An American Werewolf in

This terrific horror film tells the
story of an American student who
gets bitten while travelling on the
British moors. Written and
directed with great relish by John
Landis, who made Michael Jack
son's "Thriller" video in the same
vein, and starring Griffin Dunne
and David Naughton.

This excellent thriller starring
Kevin Costner as a navy intelli
gence agent who is hired by the
Pentagon and ends up investigat
ing a crime for which he has been
framed, is ruined by an unbeliev
ably terrible ending. You watch it,
and wonder why the hell nobody
making the film realized that it
stank. Oh well, until the end, there
are some great performances
from Gene Hackman and (for once)
Sean Young. From the director of
"Cocktail."

ingmar Bergman's swansong is
simply one of the most wonderful
films ever made, and a fitting
farewell to one of the most
influential figures in foreign
cinema. Set in Bergman's home
town of Uppsala, the intricate
story centers on the two young
children of a rich Swedish family
over a crucial two year period.
Won the Oscar for Best Foreign
Film in 1983.

has to investigate a murder which
his tyrannical boss committed, but
