Brothers Kaleo and Trevor Iwasaki grew up in Hawaii but they think attending college in North Dakota, where winter is seri ous business, is a good deal. After all, says Kaleo, "you can only take so much sun and surf." Both young men from the island of Kauai are attending the small Univer sity of Mary south of Bismarck, after being lured some 3,000 miles by foot ball scholarships. Kaleo, 20, a junior, is majoring in business, while Trevor, 19, a sophomore, is leaning toward a pro fession in medicine. McDonald's comes From Associated Press reports - SANTA MONICA, Calif. The son of the late singer Bobby Darin is suing McDonald's Corp. for more than $10 million, alleging the restaurant chain copied his father's singing style in the "Mac Tonight" commercials. The suit, filed last week in Los Angeles County Superior Court here, alleges that the television ads infringe on rights to Darin's 1959 hit version of the song "Mack the Knife." The commercials feature a tuxedoed man with a smiling quarter-moon head, seated at a piano and belting out the hamburger jingle. The suit alleges the character's voice G.B. "He said it was fun," Trevor said. 'The island where we're from is laid back," Kaleo said. "Up here, it's the same way. In North Dakota, everyone's relaxed." The North Dakota climate, with snow, drier air and extreme tempera tures, took some getting used to, the brothers admit. Trevor said the bitterly cold winters are "no big deal" because "when the cold comes around, we're inside most of the time." and gestures resemble those of Darin, who died in 1973 at age 37 of heart problems. The suit was filed on behalf of Dodd Darin the singer's son and only heir and the Bobby Darin Tes tamentary Trust. Darin's upbeat version of "Mack the Knife," a song from the 1928 German musical "The Threepenny Opera," sold 2 million copies and won Darin two 1960 Grammy awards. The suit seeks an injunction halting the McDonald's commercials, $100,000 in general damages and $10 million in punitive damages.
