LOOK WHO'S TALKING
The runaway hit of the season thus
far, this is the story of a single parent
(Kirstie Alley) and her search for
the perfect husband (eventually John
Travolta) for her son Mikey (the voice
of Bruce Willis). It's an original ap
proach to the by-now tired baby
movie genre, and while it is pure TV
sitcom, the laughs come thick and
fast. With Olympia Dukakis. Di
rected by Amy Heckerling. Ram

SHOCKER 12
The new, far-from-original horror
film from Wes Craven is the fast
paced story of Horace Pinker, a mass
murderer who becomes more
dangerous after he's been executed.
The bizarre visuals save the film, but
it's not Craven at his best. Starring
Mitch Pileggi. Willowdaile
THE BEAR
This extraordinary Jean-Jacques
Annaud film stars, well, two bears.

SEAOFLOVE
Director Harold Becker brilliantly
captures the paradoxes of New York
City: its vibrant culture and its mis
erable loneliness. Al Pacino is the
loner, a New York cop who's assigned
to catch a kinky killer who murders
people at the peak of their sexual
excitement while playing an old 45
of "Sea of Love." Even though the
film does not deliver all the thrills
and excitement it promises, Pacino
is excellent as the mournful cop. Also
starring a gutsy Ellen Barkin and a
vibrant John Goodman. South Square

WILD STRAWBERRIES
Ingmar Bergman (Fanny and Alex

this. The story of a professor who
reviews his life while travelling by
car to receive an honorary doctorate
is an extremely emotional film. Thurs
day at 7 and 9:30.
DANGEROUS LIAISONS
Glenn Close, John Malkovich and
Michelle Pfieffer star in the saga of
sexual gamesmanship in pre-revolu-tion
France. Stephen Frears (My
Beautiful Laundrette) gives the cos
tume drama an intensely contempo
rary tone. Apocalyptic stuff. Friday
at 7, 9:30 and midnight. Admission,
$1.50.
THE THIN BLUE LINE
A must-see film. Randall Adams
was subsequently freed after this stun
ning documentary chronicled the
botched investigation and came up
with new evidence to prove him not
guilty of murdering a Texas police
officer. Directed by Errol Morris. Sat'
urday 'at 7 and 9:30.
MURMUR OF THE HEART
Louis Malle's (Au Revoir Les
Enfants) exploration of a mother-son
relationship makes for a delightful,
"very French" film. Don't miss out
on one of the year's most welcome
re-releases. Sunday at 7 and 9:30.
