Campus Calendar
The DTH Campus Calendar is a daily
listing of University related activities
sponsored by academic departments,
student services and student organiza
tions officially recognized by the Divi
sion of Student Affairs. To appear in
Campus Calendar, announcements
must be submitted on the Campus
Calendar form by NOON one business
day before the announcement is to run.
Saturday and Sunday events are printed
in Friday's calendar and must be sub
mitted on the Wednesday before the
announcement is to run. Forms and a
drop box are located outside the DTH
office, 104 Union. Items of Interest
lists ongoing events from the same
campus organizations and follows the
same deadline schedule as Campus
Calendar. Please use the same form.
THURSDAY
10 a.m.: Alpha Phi Omega spon
sors a bloodmobile in Great Hall until
3:30 p.m.
2 p.m.: The Baha'i Club presents a
dramatic presentation of Baha'i perse
cutions in Iran in the 1980s, "Human
Dith
Citizens were forced to live in the
countryside and work in labor camps.
"They told us, 'You're supposed to
learn to live like the poor people. I want
you to learn to live like us.'" In the
camps the people were required to work
1 4 to 1 8 hours a day, seven days a week.
"People died and people starved to death
because they took all the food."
Much of the strife in the labor camps

(MADD), said Wednesday that Opera
tion Eagle was a success.
"I'm leaping for joy, because they're
pulling the drunk drivers off the road."
Bowman said the program could
catch those driving without licenses

But the killing of citizens was not the
only scar left on Cambodia by the
Khmer Rouge, said Pran. "Hitler did
not destroy the country, war did. The
Khmer Rouge turned Cambodia upside
down."
Pran said the movie "The Killing
Fields" helped to tell the story of the
Cambodian conflict and the ensuing
struggle for peace. "The movie helped
a lot in trying to tell this story to the
world. Many people say that it's too
violent. The violence that you saw in
'The Killing Fields' was soft compared
to what we went through.
"'The Killing Fields' isn't just my
story it's the story of the Cambodian
people. I am very grateful that I sur
vived, and my mission is to let you
know what's going on."
