Campus Calendar
The DTH Campus Calendar is a daily listing
of University related activities sponsored by
academic departments, student services and
student organizations officially recognized by
the Division of Student Affairs. To appear in
Campus Calendar, announcements must be
submitted on the Campus Calendar form by
NOON one business day before the announce
ment is to run. Saturday and Sunday events are
printed in Friday's calendar and must be sub
mitted on the Wednesday before the announce
ment is to run. Forms and a drop box are located
outside the DTH office, 104 Union. Items of
Interest lists ongoing events from the same
campus organizations and follows the same
deadline schedule as Campus Calendar. Please
use the same form.
FRIDAY
8:30 a.m.: Black Law Students Associa
tion presents a Minority Law Day in conjunc
tion with the UNC law school until 5 p.m. All

12:30 p.m.: The Orientation Office will
hold an informational meeting for all interested
in the 1990 Student Orientation LeaderCom

2 p.m.: The CGLA, in association with
Human Rights Week, will present a forum on
how sodomy laws are being used to usurp the
rights of people with AIDS featuring 60 Teach
out, winner of several awards for his compas
sion and dedication to people with AIDS. 205

3 p.m.: The computer science depart
ment will hold a colloquium with Jaron Lanier
of VPL Research Inc. titled "Thoughts Upon
Entering the Golden Age of VirTual Reality"

Graduate English Club presents novelist
Tim McLauren ("Woodrow's Trumpet") and
poet Harry Brody ("Fields") who will read
from their work in 101 Greenlaw.
English department announces a forum
with grad students reading papers of Elizabeth

Students (AIS): Human Rights Around the
World, an open panel discussion, "Hope vs.
Despair," featuring Xueling Bing, a represen
tative from the Chinese National Human Rights

The Black Student Movement will pres
ent its 1989 Miss BSM Pageant in Great Hall.

8 p.m.: SEAC's Rainforest Action Group
will meet in the Campus Y lounge to discuss
monstrous, world-changing projects.

UCPPS is collecting all resumes of seniors
interested in working for non-profit organiza

Student Government Tutoring Program
