While both the men and the women are fountains of talent, the men's squad is also a fountain of youth, which could provide a tough roadblock on the path to victory. By ROBERT BROWN 6 Back on the green After being spurned by the NCAA tournament two years ago, coach Devon Brouse's men's golf squad finished 1 3 th in last year's competition. Led by experienced youngsters, can the team continue its success? Only tee-time will tell. By ERIC WAGNON 7 Swinging for the stars With three of last year's stars gone, the women's squad is left with five freshmen and three sophomores. Though the campaign should be a rebuilding year, the team looks to at least stay on par, and could still break into the top 20. By BETHANY LITTON 9 Lefty does it right Reliever Brad Woodall leads a talented Tar Heel pitching staff that hopes to continue last season's success. After going 6-0 with a 1.19 ERA in 1989, Woodall should be a key to UNC's campaign to return to the College World Series. By MARK ANDERSON 10 Willie do it again? After three national championships in the 80s, the North Carolina lacrosse team hasn't lost much of its strength and could be looking for another trip to the Final Four. Coach Willie Scroggs is confident that his team can win its second consecutive ACC title, only a stepping stone to being ranked with the elite. By JASON BATES 1 1 Net Return Despite losing three seniors to graduation, including four-year letter winner Ann Stephenson, a contingent of fresh faces will fill the gaps for the women's tennis team. Having already won its first match 9-0, the squad looks to continue its success. By ERIC WAGNON 1 2 Making a racket After returning all but one starter from a team that went 5-2, nationally ranked Bryan Jones and Don Johnson should lead this squad through the challenges presented by Clemson and Duke.
