The Wolfpack (14-6-1) will travel about 30 miles for its second-round match with North Carolina, the top seeded team in the tournament. The two rivals will square off at 2 p.m. Sunday on Fetzer Field. In last season's semifinals, North Carolina took a 2-0 victory over N.C. State. Hooper scored her ninth goal of the season at the 27:50 mark on an assist from Colette Cunningham. Rutten scored her goal about two minutes into the second half, shooting in a loose ball following a penalty kick. The victory helped N.C. Kathy Carter had nine saves for Will iam & Mary, whose season ends at 12-8-1. N.C State men win ACC DURHAM North Carolina State earned a spot in the NCAA men's soc cer tournament Sunday as second-half goals by Dario Brose and Henry Gutierrez gave the Wolfpack a 2-1 victory over eighth-ranked Virginia. N.C. State entered the tournament as the fourth seed, but finished with the title and six players on the all-tourney team. The 14th-ranked Wolfpack also became the fourth different winner in the four years the conference tournament has been held. Brose scored at the 75:26 mark and Gutierrez added his goal at 84:47. The Wolfpack (16-4) fired 20 shots at the Cavaliers (10-5-6) in the second half and finally broke through on Brose's kick, a 22-yarder on a pass from Curt Johnson. Gutierrez, the ACC player of the year and the tournament's most valuable player, scored on an assist from Tom Tanner for the clinching score. Brose, Gutierrez, Tanner, Edwin Aguilera, Roy Lassiter and Alex Sanchez made the all-tournament team. Virginia goalkeeper Jeff Causey, who recorded two shutouts, also earned an all-tournament spot. "It basically has to do with people searching themselves and looking for the qualities it takes to win," Sagula said. "They have to really want (to get back on track) more than anything else right now. We will try to figure some thing out." Sagula points to Andrews, a 5-9 sophomore who had 1 1 kills and 22 digs, as the model of a player who has found what it takes to win. "Natal ie Andrews was a stud ton ight," he said. "If we had six Natalie Andrews out there, playing as hard as she did, we would win. She plays with her heart and her soul and her guts. This team needs more gut."
