Dear Mr: Editor: Two little girls in the first grade are in trouble be cause their names did not appear on the honor roll as published in your paper last week. Rev. 0. L Powers, of High Point. Be comes Pastor of the Scotland Neck Baptist Church. i The exercises in the Baptist church here Sunday were of unusual inter est. It was installation day for the new pastor, Rev. O. L. Powers, who recently resigned his pastorate in High Point to accept a call of the church here. There were large con gregations at both morning and evening, services. At 10 o'clock Rev. M. L. Kesler, general manager of the Baptist Or phanage at Thomasville, spoke be fore the Sunday school on some of the needs of the Orphanage. He said perhaps the chief need of the Orphanage now is more buildings for the present buildings are too much crowded. , At 11 o'clock Rev. R. A. McFar land, of Suffolk, Va., late pastor of this church, preached a singularly able sermon to a large and appre ciative congregation. The installation exercises proper occured at night. They were wit nessed by a large audience vhich almost overtaxed the commodious church building. Hon. T. M. Ar rington, of Rocky Mount., modera tor of the Roanoke Baptist Associa tion, presided over the evening ser vices. There were on the platform besides Mr. Arrington, four of the former, pastors of the church Dr. 3. D. Hufham, Rev. M. L. Resler, Dr. R. T. Vann and Rev. R. A. Mc Farland , Prof. C. W. Wilson, of Greenville, Rev. C. G. Bradley, of the Episcopal church of this place and Rev. J. A. Dailey, of the Meth odist church here. Following the program which had been prepared Dr. J. D. Hufham spoke on The Past History of the church; Prof. C. W. Wilson, on the Church and the Young People; Rev. M. L. Kesler, on the Church and Community; Rev. R. A. McFarland, on the Church to its Pastor; Dr. R. T. Vann, on the Pastor to the Church; Rev. C. G. Bradley and Rev. J. A. Dailey, on Christain Fel lowship; and Hon. T. M. Arrington welcomed the new pastor to the Roanoke Association. The new pas tor responded to the words of wel come which had been extended him and in vigorous style briefly outlined the basis on which he hopes to co operate with the church in enlarging its work. --i All the addresses were able and timelv and the long program for the evening was pleasingly carried out. The morning exercises before the Sunday school and also the evening exercises were delightfully punctuated with sweet and beauti ful songs by a quartette of little girls from the Orphanage at Thom asvill. It was quite an interesting day to the people of the town gen erally and the evening services in the other churches were dispensed with and the various congregations join ed in the exercises vhich welcomed the new pastor of the Baptist church. Mr. Powers is a young man of rare gifts and splendid ability and enters upon his new pastorate with flattering prospects. His response made a prood impression on the great audience and he already has a place in the hearts of all the people. Pain! Lick Tick Lady. Paint Lick, Ky. Mrs. Mary Free man, of this place says: "Before I commenced to take Cardui, I suffer ed so much from womanly trouble, I was so weak that I was down on my back nearly all the time. Cardui hsis done me more good than any medicine I ever took in my life." You need not be afraid to take Car dui. It is no new experiment.
