Will Locata at Harlsvllle. indomitable and tremendous will power, he has led an active life and made his influence felt. For many years he was secretary and treasurer of the Scotland Neck Cotton Mills, and at the time of his death was a di reef. or in the Scotland Neck Panic and the Dixie Fire In surance Con.pnny of Greensboro. He was identified with nearly every enterprise in this place and always lent aid to every undertaking that was for the development of his I home town. He was an aetive Mason, and the same ?pirit which made him promi nent in business made him an en thusiastic Shriner. It was fitting, therefore, that he should be laid to rest by his brethren of that frater nity, and on Sunday afternoon at three o'clock his body was carried to the chapel in the Episcopal ceme tery under the escort of not only members of his own lodge, but a very large delegation of brother Masons from Enfield, Weldon, Whit akcrs, Halifax and other places. The funeral service was conducted by Archdeacon Hughes, of Raleigh, and at the grave the prayer was offered by Rev. O. L. Power?, of the Baptist church, after which the im pressive service of the Knight Temp lars was held. Seldom, if ever, has so large a crowd been known to attend a fu neral here before. Many people from other towns were here, thus showing by their presence evidence of their tender regard for the mom- ory of a once devoted and loyal i friend. The floral offerings were both numerous and beautiful and the grave was left covered with flowers. He was a devoted son and brother as well as husband and father, and leaves behind to mourn their loss a widowed mother. Mrs. Catherine E. Bowers; a faithful and devoted wife, Mrs. Lottie B.nvers; three young sons, William Jesse, James R., and Franklin Augustus, and one daugh ter, Catherine; one brother and one sister living in Scotland Neck, J. The family and relatives of Mr. Bowers desire us to publicly express their thanks and appreciation for the many kindnesses shown during his illness and death. "I had been troubled -with weening eczema for months and used many preparations for skin troubles without relief. The first application of Saxo Salve allayed the dreadful itcliirg im mediately and after further use my skin trouble entirely disappeared. Saxo Salve vas just what I needed." W. H.
