Congres sional investigation Into the broad question of government regulation and control of railroads and , other common carriers, suggested by Presi dent Wilson in his opening address to the last session ; begins here today before a joint committee of Senators and Representatives. Although the investigation was au thorized before the threatened strike by the four great brotherhoods, the? investigation will, go into the ques-l tions which came up at such as regulation of wages by the Interstate Commerce Commission and legislation to prevent a similar situation. Questions which the investigators wil ltake up go to the heart of the transportation problem and the in-s quiry probably will have a potent in fluence in Congress on the subject of government ownership.
