One man was j killed and two seriously injured last j night at 8:30 o'clock when a through t frieght train on the Norfolk Southern j outgoing, split a switch at Butte Sta tion, eight miles from Norfolk, and ditched the locomotive and 47 freight cars. The train was bound for Ral eigh, N. C. ; Joseph Warren, fireman, of Norfolk,: was caught under the engine and in-' stantly killed. R. B. Baterman, flag- j man, and L. J.
