A new business near Merry Hill was robbed at gunpoint in the early morning hours of Sunday, and a suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. The business - Hideaway Pal ace II - is an internet cafe, and was recently opened in the for mer location of Disco 17. The commissioners met for the first time this year last Thursday One topic on the agenda con cerned the possible steps to be taken in the process of Wind sor’s getting a national chain hotel. Bertie County officials cur rently are searching for a site. Bertie County Economic Devel opment Director Steve Biggs recommended that the perfect location would be within the town limits. Biggs stated that a feasibility study must be com pleted before the project can move further. The feasibility study would examine the practicality of lo cating a hotel in the area. The study would cost $8,500.00.
