November with a complete floor show of student performers, student

students will have home town entertainment and will remain of!
gerojjs highways over the week-ends.” Photo shows the “Silver Shadow”

Christmas
Christmas is a day for children to
play
And run and laugh and rest,
And to fool their time away,
But let Jesus be their Guest.
1
Christmas is a time for prayer and
praise
And offering up a song
For all the glad and happy days
That we have lived so long.
Christmas is a day of sweet com
mune
And undivided spoil,
Because all folks must know it
soon,
In labor and sorrow and toil.
Christmas is a time when we should
be wise
About the way we plan—
Just be ourselves, and never dis
guise
A true blue woman and man.
—Troy Horn.

Liqluior Fight Looms
Mr. Patton said “everything went
smoothly” at the special session
and expressed the opinion that the
six-day sitting at Raleigh would
speed up organization of the two
legislative houses when they con
vene in regular session January 6.
There will likely be several out
standing conflicts in the regular
session, Mr. Patton said, and, per
haps, the one to attract the most
attention will be over the prohibi
tion question. He said sentiment
was increasing for repeal of the
Turlington act.
Christmas Gifts
For Auto Are Popular
The increasing beauty of the new
automobiles has created a demand
on the part of new car buyers for
more accessories, and this demand
is making itself felt throughout the
industry during the Christmas buy
ing season as never before, accord
ing to M. D. Douglas, Chevrolet
parts and accessories merchandising
manager.
“Automobile owners are taking
greater and greater pride in their
cars,” Mr. Douglas declared. “A
steadily rising sale of accessories
has been the result. Such items as
a radio, heater, defroster, clock, or
vanity mirror are now being pur
chased as Christmas gifts.
