C. HARBISON ED ROGERS injured IN AUTO WRECK HIGHLANDS, Dec. 30.—Ed Rog ers is in Angel hospital, Franklin, with a fractured elbow resulting from a car wreck here Saturday night. The elbow is the same which was broken in a former wreck, and although it is badly injured, Mr. Rogers’ condition was report ed satisfactory. His car and that of Badger Toy met in a 'head-on collision o.n a curve on the Horse Cove road Sunday night about 8 o’clock. Other occupants of the cars were not seriously hurt, but both cars were badly damaged. Let us thank you for your friendship in 1936 and pledge again our best in 1937. G. W. Marett DEPT. Norvin Duncan and Mrs. D.uncan, and their two sons, Norvin and Joe, and Miss Aloore, of Asheville, were visiting Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Davis at their home here Sunday. Mrs. L. G. Appley and children, of Coral Gables, Fla., joined Mr. Appley at their liome here for the Christmas season. Air. and Mrs. Noble and children, of Evanston, 111., are guests of the Appleys. Carl Zoellnor is much better after a siege of pneumonia, but is .not able to be out of the house yet. Miss M. E. Huger left Monday for Melbourne, Florida, where s'he expects to spend the greater part of the winter. Jay F. Chapman, of Atlanta, was visiting friends here during the past week-end. Miss Louise Dillard, of Dillard, Ga., was visiting Miss Estelle Ed wards for a few days recently. Miss Pauline Edwards and Miss Vera Edwards left Saturday for their home in Douglas, Wyoming, after an extended visit here with their father, W. W. Edwards. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Davis and Miss Rachel Davis on Christmas day were Mr. and Mrs. F. S. Merrill, of Bryson City, N. C., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Reese and son, Louis Reese, S. P. Pierson and W. P. Pierson, of Highlands, and Val Pierson, of Atlanta, Ga. Visiting Mr. and' Mrs. W. S. Davis over the week-end were Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Alitchell and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ciibson, of East Point, Ga.; and Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Bolton, and Billy and Edith Bolton, of Commerce, Ga. Harry Hall, of Raleigh, N. C., was visiting Mrs. Meta N. Hall and other relatives here during the past week-end. L. W. Rice is recovering satis factorily from an operation per formed on an injured shoulder at Angel hospital in Franklin rec ently. Potts during the Christmas season included their daughters, Miss Eva Potts from Nashville, Tenn., Miss Mary Elizabeth Potts of Atlanta, and Miss Carolyn Potts, who is attending school in New York City. Alex Aloore, of Franklin, recently received a check for $2 as a prize in the radio con test conducted by Amos and Andy for naming Amos’ (or is it Andy’s) baby girl. She submitted two names —“Orasue Catinga” and “Clory Angeline.” The Press was not ad vised which wo.n the money. Rotarians Hear Program Of Christmas Music Franklin Rotarians were enter tained a1i their weekly luncheon meeting on Wednesday of last week in the American Legion hall with a program of Christmas music presented by Aliss Alargaret Mc Guire s music pupils. The program consisted of carols, instrumental numbers and a vocal solo by Miss AIcGuire. Alenibers of the class taking part were Dorothy Sloan, Clell and Kenneth Bryant, Sol Sanders, and Katherine Ellard. A sincere and hearty greeting bearing good wishes for happiness all year.
