CON LEY, PHONE 104 SLAGLE-BULGIN Of much interest to a wide circle of f riends was the wedding of Miss Margaret Siagle, of Cartoogechaye, to John Bulgin, of Franklin, which took place at the Mt. Zion Metho dist church on Cartoogechaye Mon day afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, be iore a large assemblage of relatives and friends. ihe church in its lofty setting of autumn colors, was tastefully deco rated with bronze and yellow chry santhemums and mountain greenery. White candelabra flanked the altar; where the Rev. J. A. Flanagan, pastor of the Franklin Presbyterian church, performed the ceremony. The wedding music was furnish ed by Miss Elizabeth McGuire, of Franklin, a cousin of the groom, who played "To a Wild Rose" by Nevins. Ucbestraum and the Lohen grin as a processional, to which the bride and groanr entered together unattended. Soft strains of Shu bert's Serenade was played as the vows were spoken. At the close an attractively bound copy of the love ly ring ceremony was presented the bride by Mr. Flanagan. Mendels sohn's wedding march was used as the ' recessional. The bride wore a becoming three piece suit of Lincoln green, with matching accessories, with the flar ing collar of gray fox. Her shoulder corsage was talisman roses. Mrs, Bulgin is the talented and popular daughter of Mr.' and Mrs. Fred Slagle and the granddaughter of Mrs. Henry Slagle of "The Arboretum". She is a graduate of Macon Theatre Matinees 3:30 P. M. Mr. Bulgin is the son of Mrs. George M. Bulgin and the late George M. Bulgin, of Franklin. He is a graduate of the Franklin high school and is now manager of the Bulgin Machine Shop. Acting as ushers were: D. S. Abbott, Gilmer Crawford, Carl Ty singer and B. L. SherriuV of Frank lin. Immediately after the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Bulgin left by motor for a short trip in the south. After this week they will be at home in Franklin to their friends. Out-of-town guests here for the wedding were: Miss Louise Alex ander, Mr. and Mrs Nat White, Mrs. Clarence Choate and daugh ter, Nanette, of Charlotte; William Eisom and Charles Reed, of Wal halla, S. Miss' lowers holds a position as home manage ment supervisor with the farm se curity administration with office in Franklin, and is also Girl Scout captain of troop No. 1 in Frariklin. The groom-elect . is the son of Mrs. R. B. Overcash and the late Mr. Overcash of Charlotte. He was graduated from the Mecklenburg county high school and attended Berry cojlege where he received his degree' in the class of 1937. He now holds a teaching position in the Franklin high school.
