Apartments Being Built By Dr. Edgar " Angel on Main Street Four modern apartments, one of four rooms and three .of three rooms each, together with a s large office room, are being built by Dr. Edgar Angel on the second floor of his building on Main street over the Macon Furniture Co. Mrs. C.iS. Brown and son, C. S., Jr., spent the first of the week in Augusta, Ga., with Mrs. Brown's mother, Mrs. Georgia Hall, and sister, Miss Mae Hall. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Cooper, of Cleveland, Tenn., came up Friday for a visit with Mrs. Cooper's mother, Mrs. W. B. McGuire. Mr. Cooper left Saturday morning for Pisgah forest, where he will spend several days deer hunting and Mrs. Cooper will remain here with her mother. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dowdle have moved into the Greenwood apart ment on West Main street. Mrs. T. J. Johnston has been confined to her room since Sat urday with a case of influenza. Her condition was somewhat im proved Wednesday morning. Mr. and Mrs. John Cunningham and Mr. Cunningham's mother, Mrs. C. C. Cunningham, and Henry Reid left Sunday for Trinity, Texas, where they will visit Mr., and Mrs. Don Young, daughter of Mrs. C. C. Cunningham. Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham and Mr. Reid will return to their home here Friday, while Mrs.. Cunningham will re main for an extended visit with her daughter. Mr. and Mrs. W. Cantey John son and young son, James Cantey, of Madison, and Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Johnson and daughter, Ellen Keith, of Asheville, spent the week end, here ith their mother, Mrs. J. W. C. Johnson. Mrs. Forrest Hoilman and young son, of Winston-Salem, are here for a visit with Mrs. Hoilman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Of ficer, at their home on Iotla street. Mrs. Phil McCollum and young daughter, Nancy Jane, left Sunday for Birmingham, Ala., for a visit with Mrs. McCoIlum's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sloan Kinnebrew. Mr. and Mrs. Frederick L. Newman, of Greenville, S.- C, spent Sunday here visiting John McCol lum and other friends in Franklin. Ora, John, Jay and Vet ry Mat lock, of Atlanta and Marietta, Ga., came up Sunday for a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Matlock. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hall and small son, left Tuesday for Hend erson, Texas, to make their future home. C, up to and including December 20, 1937, for all merchantable live or dead chestnut extract wood lo cated on an area embracing about 400 acres within the Chainmaker Branch Compartment, Tusquittee Creek Watershed, Nantahala Na tional Forest, Clay County, North Carolina, estimated to be 1,500 long cords of 160 cubic feet, more or less, of chestnut extract 'wood. No bid of less than $0.35 per cord will be considered. $100 must be de posited with each bid, to be applied on the purchase price, refunded or retained in part as liquidated dam ages, according to the conditions of the sale.
