C. Mr. Pat ton, , son of Representative Robert A. Patton and the late Mrs. Patton, of Franklin, is a graduate of the Franklin high school and of the North Carolina State College at Raleigh. For the past three years he 'has been employed in the Soil Erosion Service with headquarters at Wadesboro. BIBLE CLASS ENTERTAINS FOR TEACHER Mrs. H. E. Church, assisted by Mrs. W. T. Moore and Mrs. John Ferguson, entertained the F. S. Johnston Bible class at her home in the Orlando apartments on Hac rison avenue' Thursday, afternoon, August 18, with 25 members and visitors present. The business session was presided over by. Mrs. Lester S. Conley, president, after which . the meeting was turned over to the hostesses, who held the social hour m honor of Mrs. P. F. Callahan, teacher of the class. The words "Alma Cal lahan" were made into poetry. This, contest was won by Mrs. . L. H. Page. The "Jumble Word" contest was won by: Mrs. Lester S. Con ley.
