PAGE TWO Funeral Saturday For Mrs. Nannie J. Smith funeral services for Mrs. Nannie J. Smith, 78, were held at the Burningtown Baptist church, seven miles northwest of Franklin, Satur- day morning at 11 o'clock. The Kev. Norman E. Holden, of Leath erman, was in charge of the serv ices. Burial was in the church cem etery. Tallbearers were: W. A. Iluggins, Furman Hall, Robert Tallent, Floyd Hall, Jeff Morgan and Fink Mar tin. ; ' Mrs. Smith died at her home on Burningtown Friday morning ,at 5:30 o'clock following an illness of five years. She was the daughter of the late Elisha and Mary Carnes, of Rabun county, (ia; On September 25, 1881, she was married to James J. Smith, of Macon county. She was a member of the Burningtown Baptist church. Surviving are five daughters. Mrs. Robert McGaha, of Juclson, Swain county, Mrs. Laura Nelson, of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Fink Martin, -.Mrs. Floyd Hall, and Mrs. Jeff Morgan, all of Franklin Route 3, and three sons, Virgil Smith, of Stiles, Vester and Dalton Smith, both of Franklin Route 3.
