Books Given To Franklin Public Library Through, the interest of D. L. Corbitt, editor of the North Care Una Historical Review and secre tary of the North Carolina His torical Commission, the Franklin Library has received a gift of val uable publications of the commis sion and other .state historical books. As the World Turns Box Supper Held At Liberty Saturday Night A box supper was held at the Liberty schoolhouse on last Sat urday night, September 23, and $20.25 was realized which will be used to purchase . supplementary readers for the school. .Guy L. WEST COAST STORM A despatch from Los ' Angeles reports the known dead from the storm that swept the west coast on Sunday to be, 43 and property damage over $1,000,000. NOTED SCIENTIST DIES Sigmund Freud, 83, world fa mous psychologist, an exile from Vienna by the Nazi Jewish purge, died in London last Saturday. SEVENTH Springfield, 111., has been selected as .the seventh city in which the Food Order -Stamp Plan for dis tributing surpluses through normal trade channels will be put into operation.
