den, soon became just another ball
game when the All-Stars got to
(iaulden's collection in the third
for four hits and three runs. They
rang up three more runs before
chasing him in the .seventh. Roper
finished for Brevard while Higdon
went all the way against the vis
itors; ' .. , '
Higdon kept eight hits well
scattered and was helped no end
by the sparkling work of Swanson
and Archer in the field.
Newton lead the All-Stars' bat
ting attack with three ihits while
no Brevard player obtained more
than two, and six of them bowed
out before Higdon's slants.
The combined efforts, of Gaulden
and Roper1 netted eight strike-outs
but the spotty fielding of their
mates did much to discount this
effort. '
Next Sunday,, July 7, the All
Stars will be hosts to Clayton.
The Clayton boys having on more,
than one occasion taken more than
the measure of the locals. 1

. jTaking advantage of the Visitors'
spotty and sometimes erratic field

tune of 9 to 3 at the local high
school field before a very small
crowd.
