Among the 16,500,000 men registered under the Selective Serv ice Act, for example, tliere is much communicable syphilis. In Navy Recruiting At Murphy , A representative of the U: S. Navy Recruiting service will be at the postoffice building, Murphy, from March 3 to March J 8, inclu sive, from 9 a,- m. to 4:30 p. m. daily, for the purpose of - inter viewing prospective candidates and receiving applications for, enlist mcnt in the U. S. Navy. An un limited number of applications will be accepted, and those who meet the requirements may be sure .'of enlistment at an early date. iThe basic requirements, for en listment in the U. S. Navy are that a man be between the ages of 17 to 31 inclusive, be uiiiiiiti ricd, have . not less than .seventh' grade education, .and have the con sent of liiis parents for enlistment. Claude Evans Receives School Honors Claude Evans, Jr.,-. son of Mrs. Claude Evans and the: late.' Claude Evans of ,Cullasaja, who is a stu dent at Berry School, Ga., has won first prize in the declamation contest among 12 contestants. He .spoke on the. subject, "The Fron tiers of America." Claude is an other Macon boy who is doing credit to his county.
