The young couple are making
their home with the groom's par

Helen Louise Edwards to Paul J.

on Sunday morning, May 4, at
the West Asheville Baptist
church.

formed by the father of the bride,
who is rector of St. Agnes Epis
copal church at 1 Franklin. A pro

sented by Mrs. Ben W. Woodruff
of Franklin. Prior to the cere

Mr. Gibson, who is the son , of
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gibson, of
Franklin Route 3, is a graduate of
N. C. State college, Raleigh, and
is associated with the research de
partment of State college.

Following the wedding ceremony
a reception was held at the cot
tage of the bride's parents at
Kanuga Lake. After the reception
the couple left for a short wedding
trip; For traveling the bride wore
a suit of blue wool. Upon their
return Mr: and Mrs. McLean will
reside in Charlotte where Mr. Mc
Lean is connected with the Price

Mrs. McLean who is a graduate
of the University of South Caro
lina, lived in Franklin for a brief
period and has many friends here.
Mr. McLean, who is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Ennest McLean of
Asheville, is a graduate of North
Carolina State College.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Grist of
Scaly who have been staying for
some time with M. D. - Billings
while their new home on Bidwell
street was; under construction, have
moved this week.
M rs. Nannie Bleckley, of Clay
ton. Ga., was visiting friends here

Mr. and Mrs. H. C Fouts, of
Kipling, where Mr. Fouts teaches,
are spending several weeks oh

mother.
Mr. and Mrs, H. B. Kelpin and
W. M. Katenbrink, of Atlanta,
spent the week-end with Mrs. Kel
pin's mother, Mrs. Myra Allman.
On their return they were accom
panied by Mrs. Allman and son,
Willie, who will spend several
weeks in Atlanta.
Mr. and Mrs. George B. Patton
returned to Raleigh Sunday after
noon after spending the week-end
with Mrs. Patton's mother, Mrs.
Salty Penland.
W. T. Tilson, who Is working
at Fort Bragg, spent the week
end with his family at Gneiss. On
his return be was accompanied by
Mrs. Tilson and daughter. Betty
