Estes of Cullasaja, in a ceremony
Saturday, May 1' in Clayton, Ga.
The bride was attired in a pale
blue costume and wore white ac
cessories. Mr. and Mrs. Estes were
accompanied to Clayton by Elmer
Stanfield. The young couple are
making their home at present with
the groom's mother, Mrs. Bill
Estes. . . '

Wilford Corbin Has
Unbroken School Record
X noteworthy record has been
made at the Higdonville school by
Wilford Corbin, 13 years old, who
passed the 8th grade at the close
of the school year. Besides taking
several prizes for perfect attend
ance his work has been of a high
order. "Wilford is a conscientious
student, and judges relative fact,
carefully! has the' ; regard 'of his
associates, and is active in his
civic and religious associations",
one of his teachers reported. He
has served as president of the 4-H
club the past year, winning first
prize in the 1939 dairy calf, show
of the County.

Steps Taken To Organize
Scout Troop for Colored
There will be a meeting at
Frazier Community House on Tues
day night, May 27, at 8, o'clock to
take steps to organize a Boy Scout
Troop for colored boys.
Btn McGlamery, chairman of the
Boy Scout committee and Dr. J. L.
Stokes II will address the meeting.
