There will be a special bus and a number of cars to leave the Agricultural Building ' at 9,00 A. M. ' '.'' Mrs, Robert .Bennett, president of the Macon County Home Dem onstration Council, will give a re port on the .work done by club members in the county during, the past year. Emma Lu Hurst; presi dent of the 4-H .'cll'b, council, will give the 4-H club report. Macon Club Exhibit Among the articles to be ex hibited in 'cooperation with the .'cot -. ton exhibit: will 'be 'a chair which was covered, by Mrs, Van Frazier of Patton Club, a crocheted table cloth made by Amanda Single,' of Cartoogechaye club, a number of hand-made articles as table mats, cotton towels, and hand woven rugs. There arc also articles made of fertilizer and feed sacks which include hemstitched pillow cases and table runners. In order to en courage the use of cotton all club : women are asked to wear cotton dresses.. Gswe Orchestra To Play The . West's Mill 4-H club- will give a -patriotic' program at 11 o'clock, at which time they wi play . a number of patriotic songs using their toy orchestra. Anne Stackhouse, 10, of Dillon, S. C., a 4-H Club member, is shown with Bully Boy, champion beef Hereford she raised, after the steer had won the grand prize at the Orangeburg, S. C, county show. Anne then sold the 1,070-pound steer to a packing house for $535. The steer ii a prime example of the stock being raised in the Tidewater South, where the industry is developing rapidly. Otto CCC Boys Lose To Holly Springs Otto CCC boys split in the last week-end losing to Holly. Springs, Saturday afternoon, on the latter's diamond, 16 to 4. They journeyed to Kyle Sunday afternoon and started on a big win, but the CCC boys had to call it quits at the end of the 5th with the score stand ing at 14 to 5. Highway Safety Division Makes Dire Prediction "Scores of North Carolinians now looking forward to a vacation period of rest and peace this sum mer will 'Rest in Peace' when the vacation aeason . comes to a close Ronald Hocutt, director f the Highway Safety Division, made this dire prediction in speaking of what apparently is going to happen on North Carolina streets and highways this summer. There were. 208 traffic : fatalities in the state last summer, 62 in June, 64 in July, and 81 in Aug ust, he pointed out. The toll this year, however, is running around 50 per cent above that of last year. "It is horrible to contemplate that three hundred North Caro linians who are living today will die between now and summer's end as a result of the careless, reck less thoughtless -actions of their fellow citizens.
