will begin a tent meeting in Frank
lin on Monday, June 30. His tent
will be erected at the intersection
of the Dillsboro and Highlands
highway.

dates: February 18 to 28, May 20
to 28, August 20 to 31, and No
vember 20 to 30.
Veterans honorably discharged
from the COC are now eligible for
consideration for re-enrpllment,
three months from the date of last
honorable discharge instead of six
months as was heretofore the case,
it was announced.
Veterans who are interested are
asked by the local Welfare De
partment to file application imme
diately. The next enrollment period
will probably be July 1.

quarters of the Selective Service
System, to Local Boards, this quo
tation from a War Department
circular was given regarding rights
to trainees to transfer from one
branch of the service to another:
"No transfers by trainees induct'
ed under the Selective Service and
Training Act-of 1940 during the
first four months of their active
service will be authorized, except
for the convenience of the Govern
ment. ' After completion of four
months' service transfers by train
ees between the various compon
ents of the Army of the United
States is authorized."
