Campaign Over Subscribed In Macon County By $75.00 Macon county citizens have over subscribed the quota of $200 set for this county by the United Service Organization state head quarters by the amount of $75, ac cording to a statement by John Archer, U. S. O. county chairman. The following persons and or ganizations contributed to the fund raised in this county: Franklin Rotary Club, Lions Club, Ameri can Legion, Franklin Garden Club, Franklin Methodist, Franklin Bap tist church, Franklin Presbyterian church, St. Agnes Episcopal church, Masonic Lodge, Order of the East ern Star, Moose Lodge, Parent Teachers Association, Clyde West, J. E. S. Thorpe, and the Nanta-. hala Power and Light company. The town of " Highlands raised $40 of the campaign fund. Mr. Archer stated that he ap preciated the cooperation and con tributions of those who had helped make the campaign a success and added that if there was anyone who had not been reached in the campaign who desired to make a contribution that he would turri over any donations to the National . Franklin Spanks Hiawassee Two Games The Franklin All-Stars captured a twin-bill from , Hiawassee, Ga., Sunday in the Tri-State League, winning the Opener ' 8 to 3 and copping the night cap 11 to 0. English, gave the visitors just five hits in the first game, and struck out six men, while Holsen back set them down with one single and .struck out mine. Sunday the Alj-Stars go to Bryson City for a double-header which will be their last game on the road. They return here to play six Sundays and wind up the season.
