A ceremony performed in candle
light on Sunday afternoom at 4
o'clock at the Franklin Methodist
church united Miss Mildred Irene
Bryson, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs.
C. , T. Bryson to Stanford Joseph
Krom, son of Mr. and Mrs.' J. S.
Krom, of Ellenville,. N. Y. Dr. J.
L. Stokes II, pastor, officiated,
using the ring ' ceremony before a
large assemblage of relatives and
friends.
The marriage vows were spoken
before a background of hemlock
interspersed with baskets of glad
ioli and Queen Ann's lace with
branching candelabra on either
side. ,
A program of wedding music was
presented by Mrs. Henry W.' Cabe,
organist, who played "To a Wild
Rose," by McDowell Miss Dorothy
Sloan and Richard Sloan, sang a
duet, "Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life"
by Victor Herbert, and the vested
choir sang "Oh Perfect Love," by
Barnby. Miss Dorothy Painter of
West Virginia, " sang "Because", by
D'Hafdelot The traditional wed
ding marches were played and
"Liebestraum" by Liszt was softly
played during the ceremony.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, wore a
period gown of white satin - with
long leg-of-mutton sleeves coming
to point over her hand, a tight
basq.ue waist . with neckline and
girdle of alcoyn lace; the full
skirt ending in a long train. Broad
insets of lace ran from the waist
in the back to the end of the
train. Her finger-tip veil of illu
sion tulip was caught by a coronet
of orange blossoms. Her only orna
ment "was a cameo suspended by
a gold chain, a gift of her grand
mother, She carried a fan-shaped
bouquet of' white gladioli and
swansonia centered with gardenias,
. with streamers of swansonia.
Her only attendant was her sis
ter, Miss Ruth Bryson, who wore
a dress of dusty pink tulle over
taffeta in a matching shade. The
gown was fashioned especially for
her, and was made with a tight
basque waist, puffed ; sleeves and
a long full skirt. She carried a
bouquet of mixed flowers arranged
like that of the bride and wore a
spray of the same flowers in her
. hair.
Mrs. C T. Bryson, mother of
the bride, was attired in a white
dress of regency faconne. Her cor
sage was of orchid gladioli.
Arthur Bilyeu, of Ellenville, N.
Y., brother-in-law of the groom,
acted as best man. The ushers
were Lyman Higdon, Jr., Albert
, Ramsey, Jr., and William Parrish,
cousins of the bride, and Kenneth
Cabe. The candles were lighted
immediately before the ceremony
by Lyman, Higdon, Jr., and Albert
Ramsey, Jr.
Following the ceremony, an in
formal reception was- held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Bryson on
the Highlands road. Guests were
received by Mrs. Bryson and mem
bers of trie wedding party.
Mrs. Lyman Higdon, cousin of
the bride, received in the dining
room and -Mrs. A. R. Higdon pre4
sided over the, punch bowl. Others
assisting in the dining room were
Misses Margaret Corbin and Ro
berta Henson. Miss Audrey Conley
was in charge of the bride's reg
ister '" The dining room .was decorated
with mixed garden flowers.. The

lace covered table was centered
with the three tiered wedding cake
topped with a miniature bride and
groom. Silver candlesticks with
white lighted tapers completed the
table decorations.
After the reception the couple
left for a tour of the Northern
states. Fori traveling the bride
donned - a green and white suit
with white accessories, and hei
corsage was detached from her
bridal bouquet. After their return
they will reside at 169 Canal street,
Ellenville, N. Y.

WEDDING ANNOUNCED
Mr. and Mrs. Carl W. Parrish,
of West's Mill have announced the
marriage of their daughter, Miss
Hattie Bernice Parrish to C. Ellis
McCoy, of Etna.
The marriage took place in Wal
halla, S. C, on Thursday, Decem
ber 25 in the presence of the
bride's sister, Mrs, Raleigh Hous
ton and Mr. Houston, in a quiet
and simple ceremony performed
by "W. Frank Gillespie, probate
judge.
The Gillespie living room was
decorated with holly and candles
making a festive .setting for the
occasion.
For .the wedding Miss Parrish
was dressed in a light blue cos
tume and wore navy accessories.
She is a graduate of the Franklin
high school and is a prominent
member of the young social set
o'f the community.
Mr. McCoy is the son of Ed
McCoy and Mrs. Hattie Bradley
McCoy, of Etna.
KREENE REUNION
NEXT SUNDAY
The Greene family will hold
their annual reunion on Sunday,
July 27, at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Ernest Wallace, about two
miles west of Franklin. AH rela
tives are invited to attend and
bring picnic lunch.

The living room was attractively

"About fifty guests called during
the evening bringing many appro
priate gifts for the honoree. Games

Mrs. Grant, a daughter, of Mr.
and Mrs. L. M. Henson, of Otto,
is a graduate of the Franklin high
school and of Athens Business col
lege in Athens, Ga. For the past
three years she . has been employ
ed as bookkeeper for the Burrell
Motor company in Franklin. .
Dr. Grant is' a son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ben P. Grant, Sr., of An
drews. He is a graduate of the
Andrews high school, of Mam Hill
college and of the Atlanta South
ern Dental college in the class of
1939. He has been practicing in
Franklin since July, 1939. He is
a member of the Xi Psi Phi fra
