At Patton Chapel
Funeral services for James I erry
HI were held Sunday after
noon at Patton ChapeL Methodist
church. The Rev. J. L. bwaim,
pastor, officiated, assisted by the
Rev. George W. Davis, pastor of
the Mt. Hope Baptist church. In
terment was in the church ceme
tery. Mr. Emory, a farmer and well
digger, died at his home in the
Patton community Sunday morn
ing following at illness of five
months.
Born in Jackson county, Mr.
Emory moved to Macon county
when a young man. He was mar
ried to Miss Elizabeth Blaine, of
this county, and was a member of
Mt. Hope Baptist church on Car
toogechaye. Surviving are the widow; two
sonsT James M., of Franklin Route
1. and Will, of Clayton. Ga. : four
daughters, Mr. Minnie Cabe, of
Darrirmtonv. Wash., Mrs. Lassie
Rogers and Miss Jessie B. Emory,
of Arlington, Wash., and Mrs.

The sixth annual meeting of the
directors of the Bryant Mutual
Burial Association was held on
April 21 with the following mem
bers present : Henry W. Cabe, who
presided; Lawrence Liner, Bill
Moore, A. B. Slagle, Charlie Rog
ers and O. C. Bryant, president.
Miss MayBelle Bryant, secretary
treasurer, made the report which
showed the splendid financial conr
dition of the association and which
brought favorable comment from
the board. A balance in the treas

$6,000. It was agreed that a por
tion of this surplus be invested
